Decentralized
& Inclusive decision making process |
| Scria Sangathan [women group]
members are closely involved in policy & executive
decisions through a 3 tier federating structure at
village, block & district level. Sangathan [group]
is the basic village level unit headed by an Adhyaksha
[leader]. All Sangathan members are members of Aam
Sabha [general body] that meets once a year on October
17, World Poverty Day, which is celebrated as Samridhi
divas [Prosperity Day]. The cluster/ block level federating
body is called Sangh and consists of all the Sangathan
Adhyakshas’. Sangh members meet once in two
months and are responsible for preparing cluster level
fund request & its subsequent disbursement. At
area level the federating body is called Nirnaayak
Samiti [governing body] and is represented by 1/3
members from every Sangh elected during Aam Sabha.
The Samiti meets once in 3 months and is responsible
for preparing area level fund request and its subsequent
disbursement. All the decisions regarding the management
of program, interest rate - loan types - etc., are
taken by the Samitis. The decisions taken by the Samitis
are ratified in the program’s yearly general
body meeting, Aam Sabha. At district level the three
area federating bodies are for Rewari – Alwar;
Mohindergarh; & Churu - Bikaner. |
